Outstanding Morgon’s from the great 2018 vintage
With two low-yielding years now in the past, 2018 is being billed as a great vintage, even the normally self-critical Daniel Bouland had problems finding faults with his wines, from a harvest that delivered on both the quality and quantity front. A combination of warm weather, sunshine, and just enough rain kept the vines active, producing a near-perfect season. Harvest began in late August with Bouland getting out early to preserve freshness in his grapes. All of Bouland’s wines undergo natural, 100% whole-bunch fermentation, in the classic, Beaujolais, semi-carbonic style; before ageing mostly in large, neutral oak. All the wines are bottled without fining and only a light filtration.
A wonderful pair of Morgon’s that will seduce the senses with their combination of perfumed floral aromatics, delicious red fruits and vivid brightness.
