Always considered the distillery's flagship, the 2021 release comes matured in a combination of 70% sherry, 15% bourbon and 15% rum casks. The annual outturn has traditionally been capped at around 1200 bottles, though this year's is slightly higher at around 1400.

Tasting note: [2015 batch] Light bronze / copper appearance. Super soft, sensous aromas initially show deep American oak influence - gobstopper and vanilla heavy before the Sherry enters adding fruit cake; second pass finds creme-caramel and dried fruits with faint suggestions of peat. Concentrated and still with plenty of vibrancy; understated dried fruit and rich vanillas followed by a late surge of stewed fruits and spice. This could keep going. Elegant by Springbank standards. 46% Alc./Vol.

Notes from Springbank... " ... a peated port influence, redolent of the dunnage warehouse in which it was matured. Fruity too, but this time berries to the fore: blackberries, cranberries and strawberries. Palate: The port wine influence is perfectly balanced with flavours of sherry, plum jam, blood oranges and pink grapefruit. Finish: The finish is long, soft and elegant, with earthy, peaty and woody qualities."
