Slaughter House American Whiskey (750ml)

UNITED STATES
$170. 00
Bottle
$2040.00 Dozen
ABV: 44%
A sourced whiskey finished and bottled by a collaboration of spirits aficionados and wine makers known as "Splinter Group Spirits". Released in 2015, it follows the company's first offering, "Straight Edge Bourbon". Key to the maturation process are red wine barrels, supplied by David Phinney's 'Orin Swift Cellars' which previously held the winery's proprietary Bordeaux blend, 'Papillon'.

After nine years in American oak, the spirit was finished for six months in the above mentioned French oak barrels, adding perfumed aromatics and rounding out the mouthfeel.

Tasting note: From a mash bill of 85% corn, 8% wheat, 6% rye and 1% malted barley. Glossy polished copper with appealing aromas of caramel, vanilla bean, sticky date pudding and hints of peach nectar. Exceptionally pure, soft, silky delivery: Bannoffee pie and creme caramel through the middle stage; Finish adds dates, toffee and vanilla custard as the sugars thread their way through the aftertaste. Don't expect a Bourbon, rather it's a one-of-a-kind dessert whiskey, but one that avoids the 'too sweet' trap. 44% Alc.Vol. Very limited stocks.
