Silver Barley Blended Scotch Whisky (700ml)

SCOTLAND

ABV: 40%

A very lightly flavoured Whisky for mixing, produced for John Milroy, U.K.

Almost clear with the palest straw hue. Subdued aromas of stale ginger bread with a trace of vanilla cream. A light palate offers straightforward and subdued flavours of marzipan, vanilla and spice. Gentle spirit tingle. A little hot on the finish. Short, subtle aftertaste of icing sugar and spice. "Light & Zesty" as the label suggests, but what's the point? Nevertheless, we have found this whisky educational for our customers as a good illustration of what a young whisky tastes like (and why they're not widely available).

Other reviews... Nose: For starters, it's clear. Very light and clean, verging on neutral. Hint of vanilla. Flat ginger ale. Water brings out a sulphury, new make note. Palate: Very sweet and smooth - almost too sugary and slick. Finish: Huh? Comment: Is this whisky? (Part 1) I know the industry needs to 'convert' vodka drinkers but this is ridiculous.
Rating: 6.5 / 10 40% Alc./Vol.
