A Trio of Stellar Shiraz from Dan Standish
Dan Standish is one of the most highly regarded winemakers in the Barossa. A sixth generation local from a family of grape growers this master craftsman produces epically powerful, rich and structured Barossa shiraz that stand the test of time. Each wine is comprised of dozens of components. Different picking times, row selection, separate parcel vinification in small open top fermenters followed by maturation on lees in different format barrels all tease out greater complexity. Finally what can only be described as a brutal classification is used to ensure only the finest components are labelled under the Standish name. All three wines are matured in French tight grain oak (20% new) with a light to medium toast for a period of 22 months.
