2019 Delas Ventoux - Damaged Label
Stretching out along the left bank of the Rhône river, around the limestone outcrop of the Mount Ventoux, the appellation of Ventoux covers an area of 15,808 acres. It shares the same pedological, climatic features and grape varieties as its neighbouring Côtes-du-Rhône vineyards. Made from a blend of Grenache and Syrah the wine is matured in stainless steel tanks for a period of 6-8 months.
Opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Lifted dark raspberry and cherry aromas mingle with liquorice, scorched earth, herbs du provence and pepper. Medium bodied with ample flesh and richness, the palate is filled with ripe spicy dark raspberry, dark cherry and liquorice fruits which overlay scorched earth and peppered dried herbs. Slightly chewy tannins with a long spicy finish. Generous and quite moreish, this is real winner in the value for money stakes.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
