2018 Vinelea Shiraz - Damaged Label
Produced from 100% estate-grown fruit, hand-picked, fermented in small parcels, basket-pressed and aged for 30 months in 40% new tight-grain French oak barrels, with no fining or filtering. Impenetrable inky black colour with an equally deep dark red black hue. Intense blackberry, liquorice and black cherry aromatics are complexed by smoky vanillin cedar, dried clove, roasted meats, earth and pepper. Full, rich and possessing an opulent texture the front half of the palate is drenched in ripe blackberry, liquorice and luscious black cherry fruits. Lying underneath is toasty oak, dried herbs, scorched earth and peppered meats. Superb power and depth with velvety yet also structural tannins. Long flamboyant aftertaste.
