1999 Basedow Barossa Semillon

Quality Semillon at a bargain basement price seems to be Basedow’s hallmark. The 1999 Semillon is displaying excellent bottle developed characters, yet has another couple of years in front of it. Brilliant gold colour. The nose is a real surprise, providing great varietal character and intensity. Aromas of spice, green tea and toasted honey are supported by tropical fruit end notes. The palate does not disappoint – it has all the qualities of a much more expensive wine. Flavours of toasted honey, green tea and citrus are enhanced by spicy back palate flavour. Excellent weight and length. Perfect balance. Clean crisp acid finish with very long toasted honey citrus aftertaste. Cellar 1-2 years. Great value!
