An exotic dessert wine which is enjoyed with dried fruits, slow dried roasted nuts and a treat with Biscotti Alle Mandole (almond biscuits).Brilliant, brassy gold colour. Perfumed nose of raisins, muscat, spice, apricots, orange peel and lychee. Mouthfilling palate flavours, but without the luscious quality of Sauternes or even a De Bortoli Noble One, however, that is not to detract from the wine – it’s different and should be enjoyed for its difference. Flavours of lychee, sweet tea, honeyed raisins, caramel and spice provide a very interesting flavour profile which has excellent length and persistence. Clean acid finish with very long aftertaste of honey, raisin, spice and lychee. Further cellaring will emphasise the caramel flavour spectrum as well as introducing overlays of honeyed prune. Worth a try, for the next dinner party.
