Melbourne Moonshine Barrel Aged Moonshine (700ml)

A new, 18 month barrel aged edition from an in-house venture that started in Melbourne in 2016. Two direct flame fired stills are used to give added authenticity to the corn based spirit. One would have expected x-Bourbon casks for ageing moonshine, but on this occasion, x Port casks were used.

Tasting note: Beautiful polished gold. Ideal purity. A sultry combination of vanilla bean, caramel nib and fruit mince pie mingles with flashes of potpourri and fresh linen on the nose. Follows through with flavours of toasty oak, buckwheat pancake, vanilla and a delayed rush of sugars offset by light tannins and lively spices. The base spirit remains evident through the oak, while the balance and length is spot on. Lingers with a thread of vanilla and honeycomb. Great moonshine. 45.6% Alc./Vol.
