Exceptional Value for Grand Cru Champagne

Our long affiliation with this first rate grower/producer comes to an end with the appointment of a new Australian wholesaler. The changeover brings bad news for Champagne lovers. From now on you can expect to be paying up to 50% more for Marguet. This offer represents the last stocks in Australia at our original direct import prices. Take advantage! Disgorged in April 2015, this is Marguet’s new blended Champagne – ‘Elements’. The 11 on the front label indicates the dominant and youngest vintage of the blend, in this case being 2011. A blend of 66% Pinot Noir and 34% Chardonnay it pours with a creamy white mousse and very pale gold base wine colour. The bead is very fine and exceptionally profuse. Superb nose displaying aromas of pear intermixed with baked bread and yeast lees characters followed by hints of cashew and brioche. Refined with an underlying richness and quite creamy, yet fresh in its textural mouthfeel the palate features flavours of baked bread, subtle pear and yeast lees over a background of toasty brioche characters. Excellent length with a fresh dry finish and long aftertaste of baked bread, yeast lees, subtle toast and cashew. Will benefit from another 6 months bottle age.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 12.5%
