High West Campfire Blended American Whiskey (750ml)

Park City, Utah, UNITED STATES
$140.00 Bottle
  • ABV 46%

A fascinating blend of bourbon, rye, and peated single malt Scotch whiskies.

Tasting note: [BATCH 13G03 tasted] Presents a deep burnished copper and opens with an arresting bouquet that resonates smokey scotch with its vanilla-cream-peat that comes off lanolin and dried kelp-like with undertones of menthol contributing freshness. The peaty qualities recede with exposure. A soft, almost creamy entry dovetails into a delicious, juicy yet fresh mid palate offering suggestions of dried fruit, pepper and vanilla with the peat making a return towards the finish. Concludes dry and toasty oak like, with the pleasant spiciness continuing into the lengthy aftertaste. 46% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews... This is an adaptation of the original release that spent additional time in Hungarian and French oak barrels. The finishing produces a creamier, smoother, more rounded, more mature, and improved version of Campfire, showing notes of honey, vanilla, dark berries, soft mint, and smoke. Distinctive and unique. ...Rich amber color. Bold aromas and flavors of peaty smoke, charred caramelized nuts, iodine, and grilled stone fruits with a supple, fruity-yet-dry medium-full body and a long, lingering warming smoky cigar, putty, campfire ember accented finish. Really smoky, different and fun. International Review of Spirits Award: Gold Medal
