The latest release from this cult producer is limited to 165 bottles. A full throttle Port cask expression,"The Lost Convict" was distilled in Nov 2000 and bottled in March 2008.

Tasting note: Deep copper gold. A gorgeous dessert accented bouquet takes a few minutes to open up before oozing out heavy vanilla malt saturated with fruit and nut chocolate, hints of muscat plus honey, dried fig and milk chocolate in later passes. A light creamy entry leads into an intense, tongue nipping attack; mouth coating, creamy vanilla and caramelised fig jam feature; finish is gently bittersweet, concluding well balanced with an aftertaste of cocoa, dried fig, dilute caramel and warming spices carrying the fade. Port casks aren't usually our favourite woods for whisky. This sensational effort hits the sweet spot. A belter! 66% Alc./Vol.
