Independent bottler, 'Heartwood', continues its run of limited editions with "The Beagle" (Batch 3) a special vatting from nine Larks casks that included x Port, Sherry and Bourbon barrels, plus a peated component. Proprietor, Tim Duckett has matured the whiskies in 200 and 300-litre barrels using his 'special management techniques'.

Tasting note: Deep polished brass. Superb fruity opening sniff is pure and intense with marzipan, blood orange chocolate and dried apricot, leading into a concentrated, gently bittersweet dried fruit and citrus zest attack, deftly balanced; ginger biscuit and dried apricot aftertaste.
