Following a brief interlude between Hazelburn releases, we're now being treated to two limited editions in quick succession. Earlier this year it was the 9 Year Old Barolo cask - one of the best Hazelburns we've tasted to date (find it on the website). Now comes an Oloroso cask expression (from fresh fill & refill barrels) with an extra four years added to the age statement. Distilled in October 2003 and bottled in March 2017 with 12,000 bottles produced, there are some very enthusiastic reviews on the blogosphere for this. By all reports the sherry input is judiciously handled.

Other reviews... "Opening day of the shooting season: gamey, smokey. Just a lovely whisky. Typical of some of the whiskies being released from Springbank of late, and that is something to be celebrated."- twitter.com/maltreview

Notes from the distillery say to expect flavours of "Homemade strawberry jam, sugary and filled with cream, orange zest, brandy snaps and a white chocolate creme brûlée with a finish of sweet orange marmalade." 47.1% Alc./Vol.
