Tasting note: [15ml sample] The dark tea-like colour anticipates something precocious. On the nose, lovely nutty sherry input; sweet leather, fresh fruit cake and peel freshness. Intense and deliciously bittersweet, capped off by vibrant spices. A thread of sweet malt and sherry join to rally the finish. Vivacious and long. Substantial Benriach from a single first fill sherry cask. 55.7% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.

Notes from the importers... Nose: Raisin toast with lots of salted butter, liqueur chocolates and sticky fortified. Savoury and meaty. Palate: Big powerful oak characters of dark chocolate and liquorice bark. Takes a good lick of water, which breaks up the oak and pepper steak character. Finish: A bruiser of a dram, perfect for a cigar. The dram to finish your night on with it’s aperitif like dry finish.
