A homage to Diane de Meridor who lived in the Montsoreau castle in the Loire Valley. Her romance with Louis de Clermont was part of the novel “La Dame de Monsoreau” by Alexandre Dumas. Meridor is the first London Dry Gin produced by the Combier distillery in Saumur, France, otherwise synonymous with high quality absinthes and liqueurs. Proprietor and Master distiller, Franck Choisne worked for over twelve months to create a gin using eight different plants and spices. While juniper and orange feature, he added local hand-picked botanicals such as rose petals and elderflower. Coriander and cubeb pepper also make the mix. Small quantities are produced in Combier's egrot copper pot stills. Their peculiar long, thin 'swan neck' allows for precise, controlled distillations. Each pass produces just under 400 bottles. 41.9% Alc./Vol.
