One of a new collection of seriously fun whiskies produced by Specialty Drinks to celebrate Islay. The series is produced by vatting between 5 and 20 barrels of whisky from a single distillery.
This is the first 'Pe' (Port Ellen) release that’s exclusively matured in American oak, as opposed to previous bottlings that have displayed an overt Sherry influence.
Tasting note: Bright gold colour with a pale straw hue and a pale green blush. Peat is immediately evident but shows restraint with semi sweet yet fresh aromas at first offering familiar elastoplast-like notes; with time, these tend towards more unusual scents of green olive, brine and biscuit. The palate is slightly oily and very concentrated with a spicy, tingly spirit yet possesses terrific poise at high strength. Intense barley and semi sweet peat flavours lead into the dry, salty, lanolin aftertaste that leaves you salivating for more. 54.8% Alc./Vol.
