Elements of Islay Lp3 Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (500ml)

Islay, SCOTLAND
$120. 00
Bottle
$1440.00 Dozen
ABV: 58.7%

This release represents part of the latest installment of whiskies produced by Specialty Drinks to celebrate Islay.

The 'Lp3' bottling comes from the Laphraoig distillery, owned and operated by Japanese drinks giant, and notable whisky Japanese producer, Suntory on the Southern coast of Islay. Laphroaig is renowned for being one of the world's most flavoursome whiskies. Typically heavily smoked, lean and mean, with distinctive Iodine, lanolin, elastoplast and damp soil like characteristics which tend to polarise whisky lovers. It's a love or a hate thing with Laphroaig.

Tasting note: Very pale straw, almost water like appearance. Iodine and seaweed mingle in the top note, becoming more briny, with further time in the glass accentuating a cocoa note. An intensely spicy, bittersweet attack delivers a wave of iodine laced malt and vanilla over the tongue. Good balance. Dryish, wet wool and lanolin aftertaste shows terrific persistence. 58.7%
