Dutschke Old Codger Tawny Port

This wine has been made using the Solera system. The average age of the base wine is 8 years. Made from a blend of 80% Langhorne Creek and 20% Barossa Valley fruit. The original base wines are Verdelho, Grenache, Shiraz, Palomino, Frontignac and Muscadelle. Maturation has taken place in old puncheons and smaller oak. Translucent sienna brown colour with onion brown hue. Delicate rancio nose with lifted spirit and nutty end note. On the palate light flavours of toffee and caramel are overlaid with a touch of rancio and nut. Warm spicy spirit. Clean finish. Aftertaste of spice, toffee and caramel.
