A piece of distilling history, and much anticipated in collector circles, Cask 13 is described as "an orphaned barrel", brought all the way from Tasmania to NSW, where the "poor bastard" found a home at the Corowa Distilling Co. Once again, this is in fact Sullivan's Cove whisky, and one of Australia's oldest releases to date, with 16 years in a Bourbon barrel followed by another 12 months in x Sherry with an outturn of approx. 450 individually numbered 500ml bottles. We have a small allocation to offer. If you've already purchased the two previous Corowa bottlings, this third and final release will be difficult to resist.

Tasting note: Bright topaz. Initially sappy / resiny with alcohol warmth, this develops with scents of dark chocolate, orange zest, peppermint rock lollies and beeswax. Extra time in Sherry casks has upped the sweetness on previous releases, especially at the finish; beeswax, pineapple cake, bitter cocoa and warming spices feature in the prolonged aftertaste. Well balanced at natural strength, a few drops of water accents fruit-mince pie and dried apricot notes while taming the heat. Typifies the early Sullivans Cove style. 55.3% Alc./Vol.
