Signatory Vintage

Signatory was kickstarted by Andrew and Brian Symington in 1988, with Andrew soon after buying out his brother and taking full ownership of the company. In 2002, Andrew acquired one of Scotland's smallest distilleries, the Edradour Distillery, and relocated Signatory’s base of operations there. In true indie style Signatory bottle and hand label whiskies from over 50 distilleries and they’ll source obscurities as well as big brand names. The company's range - which is initially confusing - consists of multiple core categories, the Signatory Vintage range (brown/tan tubes), The Un-Chillfiltered Collection (silver tubes), a Cask Strength Collection (black tins), Symington's Choice (Andrew’s favourite cask strength casks with a focus on heavily sherried single casks), and the new 100 Proof Collection (all bottled at 57.1% alc/vol). Further to this there is also a selection of small batch releases and limited editions that may or may not be un-chillfiltered but offer a unique finish or maturation technique.

Previous experiences with Signatory's selections have found them to be faultless, distinctive and beautifully balanced whiskies. The value for money is frequently extraordinary. It's another terrific opportunity to pick up some unusual malts and grains at fantastic prices.
