Campbeltown Loch 30 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Campbeltown & Lowlands, SCOTLAND
$150. 00
Bottle
$1800.00 Dozen
ABV: 40%

Composed of 30+ year old Springbank single malt (40%) with the remainder a 30 year old grain whisky from the Girvan Distillery in Scotland’s far south west. Only 1680 bottles produced, only a handful made it to Australia.

Do your homework and you'll quickly realise what a genuine gem this is. (30 year old whiskies typically open at around AU$300). The price/quality ratio on this limited bottling is simply extraordinary.

Tasting note: Pale gold colour with pale straw hue. Moderate aromas at first reveal deep, rich malt scents covered in a soft smokey blanket - then oily notes, candle wax, polished wood and mixed nuts. Honeys up with time in the glass. A soft entry develops into a big, bold, chewy profile: Toasty cereals, new leather and pepper with a bitter/sweet dark chocolate undercurrent . A trace of smoke whiffs throughout. Very clean and perfectly balanced. Gentle spirit warmth. Exceptionally long aftertaste of honey, toasty malt and raisins with a waxy fade. They say Springbank is famous for holding its age well. This is a big, bracing blend that for all of its 30 years is showing remarkable vibrancy. 40% Alc./Vol.
