Cadenhead's Small Batch Glenlossie-Glenlivet 21 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

You don't come across many Glenlossies, but the distillery's generally high quality output has seen it available under several independent labels. Built in 1876, the operation sits adjacent to Mannochmore distillery. It's traditionally been quite sough after by blenders and today continues as a middle-sized distillery under the ownership of Diageo, with most of the output going into the Haig's blends. The style is light and fruity which makes sense given that the distillery employs purifiers on the lyne arms. These act as mini-condensers which return a proportion of the alcohol vapour back to the pot to be re-distilled.

Distilled in 1993 and bottled in 2015 after maturation in Bourbon hogsheads. According to Cadenhead's: "initially dry then lots of marzipan and red fruits." 492 bottles released world-wide. 56.1% Alc./Vol.
