Bowmore No.1 Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Islay, SCOTLAND
$89. 99
Bottle
$1079.88 Dozen
ABV: 40%
Drawn exclusively from first-fill bourbon casks, imparting a creamy sweetness which blends well with Bowmore's maritime peat. Possibly a new Islay benchmark in the sub $70 category. Jim Murray was impressed!

Tasting note: Brilliant gold. Laid-back briny / maritime peat; also hints of salted rice crackers, passionfruit and a touch of baked citrus through the delicate smoke. Light to medium bodied, with an attractive coastal / fruity edge to the barley. Passionfruit builds alongside vanilla, becoming more oily / sooty towards the finish. Ends tangy, salty, drying, medium long. Easy-drinking Islay that hits all the right notes. 40% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews… Bowmore was never the most peaty of Islay’s malts. But here the phenols are at their shyest. Delicate and all a rather sexy tease. 91.5 points - Jim Murrays Whisky Bible 2018
