Ever wondered what each part of the whisky making process contributes toward its final character? Benromach Origins series aim to showcase just that. Previous bottlings have highlighted specific varieties of malted barley which include Golden Promise and Optic along with varying cask finishes.

Distilled in 2003 and bottled in 2013, Batch 4 has been matured entirely in first fill Port pipes and peated to a level of 8ppm.

Producer Tasting Notes...
COLOUR: Amber.

UNDILUTED:
NOSE: Sweet vanilla with red cherry and toasted malt. A subtle ginger note develops with a touch almond and lemon.
PALATE: Chilli flakes with melon and sweet cured ham. A slight oak edge with a lingering crème caramel flavour.


WITH WATER:
NOSE: Burnt sugar, sweet vanilla and ripe pear aromas. Subtle hints of Brazil nuts and eucalyptus linger.
PALATE: Still spicy and sweet with chilli, kiwi and blueberry flavours. Sugar syrup with a Raspberry and pineapple edge.

BODY: Medium. FINISH: Medium and sweet.
