Benriach Importanticus Fumosus 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

One of a series of heavily peated Benriachs, this time finished in Aged Tawny Port Hogsheads. The name, which is Latin, literally translates to 'smoky port'. Bottled at 46%, at natural colour and non chill filtered, this is a limited release with just 420 six-packs available world wide.

Tasting notes: Deep gold. Hints of oily peat to the barley sugar laced malt, evolving to cough lozenge-like aromas and following through to a rich, round, albeit straightforward peat and malt combo. Concludes somewhat muted with a subtle brine and cough lozenge aftertaste. 46% Alc./Vol.
