Barokes Bin 171 Bubbly Rouge - Wine in a Can (24 x 250ml)

The Barokes Selection consists of a range of wines bottled or should we say presented in 250ml zip top tins. One can only assume the idea is to take these tinnies on a train or picnic and sip away, just like a tinny of beer or coke. There is however one disadvantage of drinking directly from a tin and that is the nose is lost (since its impossible to smell and taste at the same time as one does with a glass). Like all new ideas, the market place will be the ultimate judge.

The bubbly opens well with good brick red mousse which has moderate persistence. The base wine is brick red colour. Developed nose of leather and spice with stewed fruit end notes. Soft tannins. Flavours of leather and stewed fruit on the palate, however the aftertaste is on the coarse side.
