Amrut Double Cask 5 Year Old Single Malt Indian Whisky (700ml)

Bangalore, INDIA
$230. 00
Bottle
$2760.00 Dozen
ABV: 46%
A blend of two (relatively) old Indian whiskies from Amrut, one from ex-bourbon and one from an ex-Port pipe (the distillery typically bottles whiskies under four years of age).
Produced from Scottish Peated barley, this was distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2017. 900 bottles on offer worldwide. We have less than a handful to sell.

Tasting note: Deep amber. Intense aromas include spent candle, toffee apple, camphor and menthol. Softens after further air contact accenting mango fruitiness and vanilla. Quite a smokey number with a gentle bittersweet delivery ; oaky then creamy and warming, with vanillan oak, dark chocolate and poached pears through the aftertaste. 46% Alc./Vol.

Amrut's whiskies have come of age with more mature bottlings now hitting the market. Demand has dramatically escalated. Rare releases such as "Greedy Angels" and several other limited editions are been snapped up by collectors apace. Due to India's hot climate, the distillery loses almost half of what gets put into barrel annually, hence supply of extended age bottlings is sure to remain limited for years to come.
