Acorn Homage to Caledonia Clynelish 18 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

A near perfect Clynelish from a single ex-bourbon hogshead (no. 6934) bottled at cask strength. Distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2016. Extremely limited.

Tasting note: [20ml sample] Quite sublime and nothing short of text book in its sumptuous waxy-crayon / fruity-honeyed bouquet that also hints at citrus blossom, beeswax and ripe apricot. Melt in your mouth texture with a delivery fanning out like a peacock's tail in a slow motion wave of honey, beeswax, apple pie and floral-citrus notes. Seamless, perfectly weighted whisky. In a word...irresistible. 50.1% Alc./Vol.

Acorn operates from Ikebukuro, Tokyo. Mr. Seishi Tsuta is the president of Acorn Limited and begun his independent bottlings after working for Oddbins wine auctions in London throughout the 70s and 1980s. Early releases under the Acorn label include Single cask Lagavulins and Port Ellens. Preservation of distillery character remains key to the company's philosophy, never allowing the cask to dominate the spirit.
