$335.88 Dozen
Cellar: Drink now - 3 Years (2021-2024)
ABV: 13%
Closure: Stelvin

Fruit was left on skins for between 6-8 hours, then whole bunch pressed with careful oxidative juice handling. The juice was then transferred to a mixture of stainless steel tanks and 1200lt & 2500lt French foudre without prior clarification, where fermentation by indigenous yeast took place on full solids. The wine was settled and matured in our foudre on gross lees prior to blending.
Translucent apricot pink shaded colour with a watery hue. Fragrant rosewater like scents mix with spiced pear, baked apple, musk and ginger spice. Energetic and tangy, vibrant fresh pear, crunchy red apple and mandarin fruits tangle with blood orange, quince and a pinch of ginger spice. Finishes dry and sprightly with crisp acidity and a long aftertaste that show plenty of zest.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc. 13%

Other Reviews....
When I see some colour in a Pinot Grigio/Pinot Gris, I’m heartened by it. I know, at least, it’s not going to be a boring wine.
Brown pear and skin, strawberry, musk and spice. This is fresh, with dribble-down-the-chin juicy pear, a dusting of pepper and spice, frisky acid cut, lovely fine chalky texture, succulence with energy, a little tangerine peel bitterness and tang, and a long and dusty finish of freshness and excellent length. Mushroom earthy complexity. Took me about 35 seconds to write the review, and form an opinion. It’s excellent. Bang on. Bravo.

Has the salmon-pink colour of a rosé – and as much flavour as many. Views on the desirability (or not) of the pink colour are split, with no likelihood of being resolved any time soon. The bouquet is redolent of spice, white pepper and wild strawberries. The palate a mirror image. It's not classic, but as a left-field wine, it is pretty good. From this crusty old barnacle, that's high praise. Drink by 2026.
