2020 Tar & Roses Sangiovese

Winemaker Narelle King has utilised the resources of Heathcote, Alpine Valleys and Strathbogie ranges to produce this savoury Sangiovese. Maturation taking place in predominately older oak barriques.

A delightful take on Australian Sangiovese.

Deep dark red in colour with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Aromas of red currant and red cherry are punctuated by hints of rose, earth, fresh herbs and spicy tobacco in what is a charming sniff. Underpinning the delicious red currant and red cherry fruits is bright acidity with tobacco, earth and infusions of spicy fresh herbs scattered across the back half. Finishes dry with robust tannins and a crunchy like feel. The savoury aftertaste layered with spicy red fruits and showing some lingering grip.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
