A blend of 60% Grenache, 21% Shiraz and 19% Mataro sourced from vines ranging in age between 40 to 150 year old. Maturation took place in large 4500 litre French oak foudre vats for a period of 20 months.
Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red purple hue. Alluring dark raspberry, black cherry and liquorice scents fill the nostrils with vanillin cedar, hints of black olive, light earth and spice also present. Deeply concentrated, powerful and rich the palate is engulfed with succulent waves of black raspberry, black cherry and liquorice fruits which overlay a back drop of light scorched earth, herbs du Provence and spice. Plush in its feel with silky smooth tannins and nicely balanced acidity it finishes long, sumptuous and lush.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 15%

Other Reviews….
A blend of 53% grenache, 28% shiraz and 19% mataro. Each component has been elevaged in large-format oak (4,500 liters) and this is the wine that reflects the vintage style and quality. It shows the all-round consistency of 2018 with bright red and blue berries, some red pastry notes and deeper, earthy, slightly tarry notes, too. The palate has a rich, supple and fleshy texture with ripe red-plum and raspberry fruit flavors, as well as soft, late-picked tannins. Drink over the next eight years.
