A blend of predominately Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto with smaller quantities of Freisa, Albarossa and Pinot Noir added in. Aged for 18-24 months partially in steel and then in first, second and third use barrels.
Dark red in colour with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Nosing offers up a mix of violets, dark to black cherries and liquorice with hints of vanillin earth and spicy dried herbs also present. Light in body the palate has red to dark cherry and raspberry fruits overlaying a back drop of dusty earth and infusions of fresh herbs. Finishes dry and spicy with good freshness to the savoury aftertaste.
