Matured in French (15% new) and American oak barrels for a period of 18 months, this is a rich, smooth and remarkably refined Barossa Shiraz. Dense inky black in colour with a deep dark red black hue. Heady freshly crushed blackberry, liquorice and dark plum aromatics waft from the glass mixing with vanillin oak, hints of mocha and spice. Rich and silky, the palate is flush with opulent blackberry, dark plum and liquorice fruits. Refined in its feel and far from over weight, elements of vanillin oak, fennel and spicy mocha chime in on the back half. Velvet smooth, seamlessly integrated tannins with a long, sumptuous aftertaste that shows surprising finesse.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
