Deep dark red core with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Perfumed violet like scents lead the attack with dark cherry, strawberry and subtle anise ensuing. Light spicy cedar, forest floor and fresh herbs notes are also evident. Light in body the well fruited palate sees delicious ripe cherry and strawberry flavours over hang a back drop of spicy cedar, light forest floor and infusions of fresh herbs. Finishes with a lick of freshness and well integrated velvet like tannins but is a touch short on depth and power. Medium length conclusion.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
A blend of all five blocks/clones, wild-fermented with 35% whole bunches, matured for 9 months in fruit (30% new). Crystal, clear crimson; the fragrant and expressive bouquet offers red cherry/berry fruits with spice and forest floor aromas. A vibrant palate with red fruits to the fore, spice and superfine tannins. Made by Robin Brockett. Drink by 2032.
