Impenetrable inky black purple colour with a deep dark purple black hue. Nosing offers up a combination of liquorice and blackberry aromatics followed by plum, vanillin cedar and pepper. Rich luscious blackberry, liquorice and plum fruits are underpinned by fresh acidity with elements of vanillin cedar, spicy earth and pepper also evident. Bright, slightly inky finish with fine grained tannins and a generous yet vibrant mid length aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews….
Subregional sourcing across Seaview, Blewitt Springs and Clarendon, from 30-55yo vines. Matured in 15% new French oak. For the price, this is very hard to top. Even if it were double, it would be impressive. Dark cherry, violet, bitter chocolate, Dutch licorice and clove. Very regional fruit profile, but discernibly noble and far from the madding crowd by virtue of its lithe, slinky tannin profile and well-applied oak; a welcome belt of savoury restraint. Drink by 2028.
