Scotchmans Hill’s first vintage was in 1986 and since then they have gone on to become one of Bellarine Peninsula’s leading wineries. The 2018 Chardonnay was matured in a mixture of new to 4 year old French barriques for 12 months with yeast lees stirring taking place monthly.
Brilliant pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Aromas of fresh white peaches, ripe nectarines and dried honey are trailed by traces of lemon butter, nougat and light cashew. Mouthfilling with a gentle creaminess to the texture, rich fleshy peach and nectarine flavours combine with honeycomb, citrusy nougat characters, lightly roasted cashews and spice. Excellent fruit intensity finishing dry with good balanced freshness and a long ripe peach, honeycomb, cashew, nougat and spice aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Alc. 13%
