Magnificent inky black colour with a very deep bright dark purple black hue. Peppery graphite like top notes mesh with liquorice, dried meats, scorched earth and spice. Rich, bright and refined, crushed blackberry and liquorice fruits adorn the youthful palate. Dry inky finish with stern tannins and bright acidity, elements of dried meats, graphite and white pepper lying underneath. Tight, structured finish.

This doesn't need cellaring, although it will last some distance, and it doesn't need hours in a decanter. Just enjoy it; it is lighter-framed, laced with neat tannins, bright acidity and with a core of succulent fruit abetted by prosciutto and woodsy spices. Importantly, this has drinkability stamped all over it. Drink by 2018.
