A field blend from the vineyards of Figli Luigi Oddero in Barolo, Italy. Syrah, Petit Verdot & Nebbiolo. co-fermented & matured in old wood for 14 months. Black as night dark red colour with a dark red hue. Fragrant aromatics of ripe dark cherries and red liquorice have a leathery overlay with earthy dried herb and spicy tobacco notes ensuing. Medium bodied the palate has a fresh feel to it with bright acidity underpinning a ripe red to blackcurrant and red liquorice flavour profile. Firm earthy tannins provide the dryish finish with some grip. Leather, earth and dried herb characters make an appearance on the chewy aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews….
A blend of Syrah, Petit Verdot and Nebbiolo from La Morra.
Bold colour. So purple. Crushed black fruit, boysenberry, violets and plenty of spice and pepper. It’s medium-bodied, cool and purple flavour profile, distinct graphite character to the tannin and glassy ‘mineral’ feel to the acidity. Plenty of cracked pepper too, maybe some liquorice, powdery feel to the tannin as it goes. So interesting. Something pretty different in your glass here. Drink 2021-2028.
