2018 Leconfield Coonawarra Cabernet Franc

From vines planted in 1982, this single vineyard wine was matured in a mixture of 10% new French oak, 80% 3-4 year old French oak and 10% 4 year old American oak. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Fragrant red currant, tobacco leaf and bay leaf aromas are trailed by spicy cedar and faint earth notes. The elegant medium weight palate is blessed with expressive red to dark currant and mulberry fruit that shows good richness over elements of bay leaf, subtle cedary tobacco characters, faint earthy black olive and spice. Fine, very polished tannins with ample freshness to the lengthy conclusion.
