Other Reviews…..
As I wrote last year, Julien Sunier established his own small Beaujolais domaine in 2008 after a stint working with Christophe Roumier in Chambolle-Musigny, and he has rapidly emerged as one of the region's new star producers. Committed to organic farming from the beginning, whole-cluster fermentation in cement vats at low temperature followed by élevage in used Burgundy barrels are the rudiments of his approach. The style is supple, elegant and perfumed, emphasizing grace and charm, and all the cuvées reviewed here come, once again, warmly recommended. The 2018 Régnié confirms its fine showing last year, wafting from the glass with a perfumed bouquet of raspberries, peonies, orange rind and exotic spices. Medium to full-bodied, supple and succulent and built around powdery tannins and lively acids, it concludes with a long and sapid finish. Drink 2020-2030.

William Kelley – Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate

So nice to taste a Régnié, Fleurie and Morgon together, from the same producer and vintage.
Spicy and exotic, blackcurrant, raspberry, dried roses, sweet herbs and earth. Medium-bodied, supple and succulent, juicy raspberry and berry coulis, grilled meat and ‘mineral’ character, but all built around sweetness of fruit and inner perfume. Cherry pip acidity. Tannnin is ripe and dense, with a silty feel as it runs long on the palate. Such a seductive wine. So lovely.
