2018 Heathcote Winery Slaughterhouse Paddock Shiraz

Impenetrable inky black heart with a deep dark red black hue. Potent aromas of liquorice, blackberry and more subtle eucalypt rise out of the glass followed by light smoky vanillin cedar, earth and blackpepper. Rich liquorice and dark plum fruits are interwoven with some prominent toasty vanillin oak characters. Earth, mint and blackpepper characters then ensue. Sturdy tannins firm up the finish a touch. Good depth with a long aftertaste that has flashes of vanillin oak and mint to it.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
