2018 Greenock Creek Alices Shiraz

Magnificent dense pitch black core with an equally deep dark purple black hue. Wafting out of the glass are heady scents of black cherry, black plum and liquorice followed by vanillin oak, mocha, fennel and spice. Rich, luscious black cherry, black plum and liquorice fruits have a voluptuous feel as they’re cast across a back drop of vanillin oak, scorched earth, fennel and spice. Ripe, slightly chewy tannins provide a solid framework. Excellent power and density with a long, lavishly textured aftertaste. Still a big mouthful of a wine but perhaps a touch more sedate than past vintages particularly in terms of its alcohol.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
