2018 Dr Loosen Bernkasteler Lay Riesling Kabinett

Brilliant water like colour with greenish tinged edges. Lime juice and red apple aromas have a subtle honeysuckle overlay followed by orange blossom and slatey notes. Light, airy and tangy the palate is decorated with red apple, lime and honeysuckle flavours which are underpinned by a zesty freshness. Infusions of orange blossom and flinty mineral characters mark the crisp off dry finish. Excellent drive with a delicious mouth watering aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Such a fun and juicy thing to drink. It has a tickle of spritz (at least as a young wine), sweet and fresh flavours of citrus and green apple sorbet, a bit of spice, some floral things, a subtle slaty texture and a brisk and tangy finish of fine length. It’s hard not to drink it too quickly. Drink 2019-2024+
