2017 West Cape Howe Old School Chardonnay

West Cape Howe’s Old School Chardonnay is entirely barrel fermented and spends 5 month on lees. It also goes through malolactic fermentation, all of which promotes texture, complexity and flavour.

Brilliant pale straw colour with a greenish tinged outskirts and watery hue. Scents of ripe peaches, nectarines and dried honey are followed by citrusy nougat and spice notes. Rich and full in body yet retaining a real sense of freshness the palate is filled with ripe peach, honeycomb and nougat flavours with traces of apricot also evident over a back drop of toasty oak and spice. Creamy mid palate textural feel finishing with vibrant balanced acidity. Long ripe peach, honeycomb, spicy nougat and toasty oak aftertaste.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
