Paul Hobbs Vina Cobos Bramare appellation wines are sourced from two of the most prestigious growing regions in Mendoza, Lujan de Cuyo and Valle de Uco. Lujan de Cuyo is fed by the snow-melt of the Andes through the Mendoza River with high altitudes ranging from 945-1100 metres. Its high elevation location in combination with a semi-desert climate and low-nutrient, gravelly soils provide ideal conditions for cultivation of quality fruit. The cool, high altitude region of Valle de Uco’s vineyard sites range from 900-1400 metres in elevation and are characterized by their proximity to the Andes mountains.
Aged for 18 months in new French (20%) oak and new American oak (10%) with the balance in a combination of second use oak. Pitch black in colour with a deep dark red black hue. Wafting from the glass with great potency are cassis, dark plum and liquorice scents trailed by dark chocolate, vanillin oak, earthy mocha and spice notes. Bold, rich and unashamedly lavish in nature, the palate is engulfed with opulent cassis, dark plum and liquorice fruits which are well integrated with toasty vanillin oak, subtle dried herbs, traces of earth and spice. Sturdy in structure yet possessing velvet like tannins it concludes ripe, long and powerful.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 14%

Other Reviews….
Plum, chocolate, sweet tobacco and herb aromas follow through to a full body, balance of firm tannins and a long and flavorful finish. Beautiful balanced. Lovely fruit. Drink or hold.
