2017 Vasse Felix Filius Cabernet Merlot

Good depth of colour displaying a midnight black dark red core with a dark red hue. Aromas of blackcurrant infused with black olives and mulberry are matched to cedary tobacco characters and spicy bay leaf end notes. Medium bodied and elegant in its feel and structure, the palate has red currant and mulberry fruits intermeshed with cedary tobacco characters, infusions of bay leaf and spice. Slightly dryish finish with fine grained tannins and a medium length aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.

This has substantial texture and structure, and there is a wealth of delicious red and black fruits filling all the gaps. Give it a year or two and all the components will be united. Drink by 2032.
