2017 Stage Door The Green Room Riesling

Brilliant very pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Pronounced lime juice and lemon scents intermix with granny smith apple, subtle talc and mineral. Mouth watering flavours of lime juice, citrus and green apple show excellent intensity with chalky talc and mineral nuances also chiming in. Finishes dry with fresh crunchy acidity and a long lime juice, lemon, green apple, talc and mineral aftertaste.
Drink now or cellar 5-6 years.

From the Avon Brae Vineyard, the vines planted '96, free-run juice fermented with cultured yeast. Combines purity and intensity with length and power, but you have to focus on the finish and aftertaste to unlock the vault holding the lime, lemon and passionfruit flavours which led to its gold medal at the Canberra International Wine Challenge '17. This has a long future awaiting those who are patient. Drink by 2032.
