Dense inky black core with a deep dark red black hue. The nose dispels liquorice and blackberry aromas followed by vanillin cedar, light scorched earth and blackpepper notes. Rich juicy blackberry and liquorice fruits hover over a backdrop of lightly smoked vanillin cedar, earth and blackpepper. Ripe, slightly chewy tannins. Excellent power with a long peppery aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.

Other Reviews….
Open-fermented, 25 days on skins, matured in low toast French barriques for 10 months. Deep crimson-purple hue; it has sumptuous black fruits oozing from every pore of the bouquet and palate alike. The decision to downplay the oak was totally justified, leaving the remarkable pepper and spice infusion in the blackberry fruit and silky tannins in high relief. Drink by 2037.
